Dr. Mary Smith-Stowe, president of Kentucky State University from 1989 to 1998, will address “Race Gender and Leadership in Higher Education” in the Combs Building’s Grise Auditorium on Tuesday, Nov. 10. |
Smith-Stowe, the first African-American woman to lead a major university in Kentucky, will use her experiences to highlight and raise questions about issues of gender, race and ethnicity in the higher education system. Her presentation, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., is free and open to the public.
