Webcasts Continue to Raise Awareness of Scholarly, Creative Achievements
EKU Libraries and the Office of Graduate Education and Research will present the webcast series, Focus on Scholarship, for the second consecutive year. The series, created to raise awareness for scholarly and creative achievement, consists of 10- to 15-minute webcasts that feature an Eastern community member discussing scholarship, how it informs their teaching, and, as appropriate, the supportive role of the Libraries and Graduate Education and Research.

“University libraries are playing an increasing role in the dissemination and organization of scholarship being produced within a campus community," said Dean of Libraries Carrie Cooper. “The Focus on Scholarship series is a way to tell our community of scholars we’re interested in preserving their research and accomplishments.”

Dean of Graduate Education and Research Dr. Jerry Pogatshnik said: “In these interviews, we hope to capture just a small segment of the scholarly and creative activities taking place at EKU. They demonstrate the important contribution of scholarship to the intellectual environment.”

Conducting the interviews will be Cooper, along with Pogatshnik and Dr. Jaleh Rezaie, associate dean of graduate education and research. The series, produced by EKU Media, will be available at the Power of Maroon YouTube channel and on the Libraries website. Visit www.library.eku.edu/new/content/scholarship.php to see past webcasts in the series.

Faculty and staff are reminded to submit publications and presentations to Debbie Whalen in the Library’s University Archives; those submissions are compiled and published in EKUpdate.
