AFA: Book Drive
The African/African American Studies Program is hosting a book drive to benefit the Martin Luther King Jr. Academy in Memphis. The academy is an alternative school for at-risk youth in grades 6-12. AFA students visited the school in 2011 and donated enough books to start a library.
We want to collect more books to help add to MLK Jr. Academy’s library to enrich the lives of their students, providing them with opportunities they would otherwise not have. Donations of any and all books (new and used) will be much appreciated. Books can be dropped off at the AFA Office in Miller 110 between now through March 8. You may also call the AFA office at 622-1299 to arrange for us to pick up the books. Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., through March 8 Location: Miller 110
