Personal Prep for Working in Deafness Related Professions
The ASLIE Department will host the Leadership Institute of Colorado for a series of four workshops on campus for persons working in the deafness field that will also benefit any students entering an internship or practicum in 2010.
Three sessions will be held on Friday, Dec. 4: "How Our History Will Impact Your Future," "Your Belief System: How Awareness of Your Beliefs, Values and Assumptions Influence Your Career," and "Self-esteem and Fear: Developing One, Getting Rid of the Other."
The Saturday, Dec. 5, session, "Creating Authentic Professional Relationships: How Am I Going to Get Along with These People?" begins at 8:30 a.m. A powerful dialogue technique referred to as "authentic inquiry" will provide you with tools for interacting with colleagues.
